Choosing Your Miniature
What is a DIY miniature kit?
A DIY miniature kit is a hands-on project for creating a small decorative scene. Depending on the design, you may assemble a structure, arrange tiny furnishings, make accessories, and install lighting. Check the individual product description for the contents and assembly requirements of your chosen kit.
Do the products arrive assembled?
Products described as DIY kits require assembly. Miniature figures and diorama sets may have different preparation or assembly requirements, so always read the specific listing rather than assuming every product is a kit or a finished model.
Which kit should I choose as a beginner?
Look for a product marked Beginner where a difficulty rating is provided. Start with a simpler scene and fewer intricate details, then choose a subject you genuinely enjoy. Check the dimensions, materials, and assembly notes before deciding.
How big is the finished model?
Finished dimensions vary by design. Refer to the measurements in centimetres on the product page, and check the space where you plan to display your build. Photographs alone are not a reliable guide to size.
Are these miniatures suitable for children?
Follow the age guidance and safety information for the individual product. Miniature projects can contain small parts and may involve adhesives, sharp tools, or electrical components. Do not assume a decorative miniature is suitable as a children's toy.
Before You Start Building
Are glue, tools, and batteries included?
Inclusions vary between products. Check the listing for your chosen kit before ordering, especially for glue, tools, batteries, and power supplies. An item shown in a styled photograph is not necessarily included unless it is listed as part of the kit.
How long does assembly take?
Build time depends on the design, your experience, and how much time you spend on the details. Use a product-specific estimate if one is provided, but give yourself room to work at a comfortable pace. You can divide the project into several shorter sessions.
How should I prepare my workspace?
Choose a clean, well-lit surface with space to sort the parts. Read the instructions before starting, keep small pieces in labelled trays, and protect your work surface when using adhesive. Test-fit pieces before gluing and follow the adhesive manufacturer's ventilation and safety guidance.
Does every kit include lighting?
No single lighting setup applies to every design. Check the product description to see whether lighting is included and which power source it requires. For kits with lights, test the components according to the instructions before enclosing the wiring.
Displaying & Caring for Your Build
How do I keep my finished miniature looking its best?
Display it indoors in a dry location, away from direct sunlight, moisture, and heat. Remove dust gently with a soft, dry brush. Avoid soaking the model or applying cleaning sprays to delicate paper, wood, painted surfaces, or electrical parts.
Is a dust cover included?
Check the individual listing. A dust cover is only included when the product description specifically lists one. If you buy a separate display case, compare its internal dimensions with the completed model's measurements.
Orders & Product Support
Where can I find delivery information?
Review the shipping information provided by the store and the delivery options shown for your address at checkout before placing your order. If you need your miniature for a particular date, contact us before purchasing to discuss your timing.
What if a part appears missing or damaged?
First compare the contents with the parts list and check the packaging carefully for small pieces. If you still need help, contact us with your order number, the product name, the part reference where available, and clear photographs of the issue and packaging so we can review it.
Can I get help choosing a product?
Absolutely. Tell us which designs you are considering, your experience level, and the space you have available. For questions about an existing order, please include your order number so we can identify it more easily.
